Re: BIAFF 2024 - yes or no?
I don't think there were very many people watching on Zoom last year. I hope booking is made simple. In the past it has been hard for me to understand.

Student Films
I have just been acting in a student film which was a real eye opening experience. Having seeing other student films selected for showing in Film Festivals I was expecting a highly polished production. I asked one ofthe Directors if there was one of their previous films on the internet that I could ...

Re: Open Film Night Summer Chalenge
I was happy with the way my film was treated, and certainly did not expect it to win (and of course it didn't!). The more I make, edit and watch films the more experience I gain. Also making films helps me get to know who I am. A few years ago one of my one minute film got second prize in a SoCo com...

Re: Open Film Night Summer Chalenge
I saved the "Chat" from the Zoom meeting. The chat has the URLs, and I'm going to show some of the films at one of our evenings at Bournmouth Video Club. Even some of the simple things give me ideas for other films.

Re: Green screen and TicTok
I have recently been messing with live greenscreen apps on the iphone. And found "Green Screen Live Video" quite good. The free version has just a bit of writing on the end result. The way I got hold of it to edit it was, upload it to YouTube from the iphone and then trim it in the YouTube...

As I don't remember watching that film and it's not on the watch list, I cannot pass opinion.Dave Watterson wrote: ↑Fri Jun 02, 2023 9:48 pm Some people suggested as best of the festival: THE APARTMENT for example.

Re: Judging-FVM June
What do people think of "Dig" getting three trophies: Best in Festival, Best British entry and Diamond? I feel it would be better to make a rule that one film gets one trophy. Did the makers really want three trophies gathering dust? Could the three awards be engraved one trophy? My feelin...

Re: BIAFF RESULTS 2023
I cannot find "Swimming Pool" online - there is Jan doing an interview with Werner Haegeman and Francis De Ceuster. I would like to watch Swimming Pool. Many of the award winning films are difficult to watch, which is a pity. I would not want to watch Milky Way again as I don't enjoy being...

Re: BIAFF RESULTS 2023
Surely over the years you must have thought one of your films was worth more stars than you were given? And yet you say it did not effect you emotionally. I would call that a philosopical view where you are able to seperate your emotions from a film which you have spent a lot of time and put a lot o...

Re: BIAFF RESULTS 2023
I did not put a film in this year, but I think one of the nice things about BIAFF is the chance to get more exposure for films. Even if they are not shown at the Festival a link can be put on the BIAFF website with the star rating. My hope has always been that I might meet up with other film makers ...

Re: BIAFF RESULTS 2023
I completely understand Howard. When you have made a high quality film it needs to be shown in a blacked out cimema where the audience is subsumed, like in "Un Chien Andalou" . Peferably with a big audience.
