lip-sync with hi-def projectors

Maybe my last update on this issue for picture delay - using a hi-definition, processor rich video projector . I tested a new Panasonic PT-AX100 projector with a real movie, and looked to see if the lip sync was ok. It Passed in my view- I couldn't hear any evidence of the sound coming before the p...

According to the manual " the sound menu can compensate for video signal processing delays when using LCD monitors or projectors ." Each speaker can be indiviudally delayed to compensate for distance, but it mentions compensating for video processing delay on a couple of occasions. A revie...

The Lip-Sync issue

I asked some staff at a Sony Shop if they do an amp that has a lip-sync correcting sound delay circuit built in. They didn't know , as Sony only have two AV amps! One guy suggested going into the DVD player's menu and increasing the sample rate. But I have also learned that many modern AV amps have ...

In my 10 years or so working with PC's (after I was forced to admit my souped up Amiga 1200 wasn't managing anything more than nice titles in 256 colours) I have encountered - up to now - only a couple of realitively minor viruses on my gear. And my friend's infected PC sent me one of those. The ind...

Yeah the quality of the images were excellent, as was the huge variety of shots.
It's a demonstration of good stability in a tricky place!

I'm involved in the film collecting scene and some of the collectors are very impressed by the Panasonic AX 100E which I know they have used to show Hi Def in the home - I have seen no reports of loss of synch. There is a magazine called Projections run by one of the collectors and I can put you in...

I already have done thanks.

Re projector delay - I got a reply from Panasonic -they say "In response, I would explain that there are no such problem with own recordings. Lip sync can be a problem sometime times with sky signals.."

I'll check out the image on my home projector and see if there's any delay.
I have tried looking for delay on my tv, and it is ever-so-slightly there, but I can't say I've ever noticed it before.

Obviously these new projectors are more prone to it.

Because of the problem of picture and audio being out of sync, I wrote up about the digital audio delay corrector in Positive Image last year. See page 7 of your May/June 2006 issue. tom. I looked up your article, which has got me thinking about any delay in the picture on my Panasonic flatscreen C...

Club Projectors

Anyone got some recommendations for what to look for when updating your club projector. It obviously must be able to project from s.video and component outputs, and also be able to project in the correct aspect ratio for widescreen movies, this done either automatically or at the flick of a remote. ...

For billyfromconsett a lot of hard work and one new member! I don't wish to be negative but press packs, public shows, are unlikely to hack it on the basis of the information here. Anyone with programs that have brought in new members? All suggestions welcome. Ned C We've had more than just one mem...

Edin - Re Reviving a club. I've taken the publicity officer role at our club for the last 3 years. The main focus of the role which I set for myself, was to make more non-club people aware that our club actually exists, and to make it look attractive for them to come and check us out. I got our name...

Stingman - That's my understanding. But I've got to admit that I never copy DVD's outside of computers. The DVD recorders that can be acquired today (some with hard drives) may be cleverer than the oldy world days. I suppose that when I see a movie of mine not look to my liking on a screen, I assume...

Re: Film competitions - Mini DV or DVD?

[quote="tom hardwick A DVD copy of a DVD is a perfect copy. They're both digital. The discs contain only ones and zeros, nothing else. Not a thing. tom.[/quote] If you can connect two dvd players via s.video and you'll get a digital copy with zero degradation, well that's news to me, as well be...
