Sounds Cool...

As well as make movies... i have a CD or Two of music that my "band" put together... 'Piece of Pie' (you can find us on MySpace)

If anyone wants some dancy/trancy music in their movies, completely free of charge, just drop me a note. :-D

All we want is a credit. ;-)

LOL.... true... that does sound a pain.

Can you not hold it in one place and then broadcast the event over the web Live?

Sadly... i shall be visiting family in Northern Ireland at the time of the Festival... so will miss out this time.

I may put my neck on the line here... but i used to enjoy the festivals when they were in London. I know i'm in the minority... but it was easier for me.

I guess that's why Star Wars fans get away with it... because George Lucas owns most of the rights to his stuff anyway.

Fan Films keep the franchise alive whilst the main movies are away... :-)

Fan Films

I'm sure you all know, that there is a kind of Phenomena out there called the 'Fan Film'. Many many mainstream films have had homage paid to them from Amateur filmmakers, me included. From Star Wars (the most popular), to Indiana Jones, to Harry Potter, to The Matrix. Have any of you out there made ...

Re making your film Official, sometimes all it takes is to get it screened in the right places.

For example, even if your film is an amateur movie, get it shown in some Festivals, and you could find yourself with a spot on the IMDB.

Thanks Film Thurso, I did put the odd hour in here and there! The rundown sequence for example (featured near the end of the trailer) where the girl is being chased by the speeding car. I first filmed the victim running and spinning around to a stop and after the cut, I left the camera running. I t...

Re: Age

I remember when the club i belonged to got a 60'ish year old guy to run the show (ex-BBC), the first thing he asked us to do was make a short documentary on how to make a cup of tea! Now i know people need to learn the basics... but isn't our hobby all about having fun too!? Did you consider that o...

Personally... i really like the words Institute and Cinematographer. Its the Amateur bit that i'm not 100% sure of. I find that its quite impressive to say that you are a member of the Institute for Amateur Cinematographers. It certainly sounds respectable, and that it takes itself seriously... but ...

Good tip Dave.

You can also use Apple Quicktime Pro (only costs £20) and that allows you to edit, import and export video using a huge range of file types and compressions.
