Re: Attracting New Members
I have no problem with the word "amateur", I'm quite happy to call myself an amateur photographer, because that's what I am, I'm not a professional photographer, I don't do it for the money! Out of curiousity I looked up the word "amateur" and among the definitions I found was: &...

Re: Music Video is Finally Finished
Well, I have to admit that it's not my type of music, but even so I did enjoy watching the video. I think it's easily as good as many commercially produced music vids I seen. I liked the way you cut between the band, the riot scenes and the news room. The special effects were well done, but not over...

Re: WHAT ARE YOUR YOUTUBE / VIMEO ETC NAMES?
Tim, merit is in the eye of the beholder. My railway video/AV sequences are hardly masterpiece cinema and are probably of no interest to many people but I like to think they're an interesting record of the event and my fellow railway enthusiasts may enjoy watching them. I get a great deal of enjoyme...

Re: is this the sign of the times
An old saying amongst film makers "You either make a film or have a holiday". How true. I've made films on holiday very occasionally but it sure was not a holiday! I know what you mean Michael. Some years ago I went on holiday with the intention of making and AV sequence, as I recall I di...

Re: is this the sign of the times
I think what you're seeing is the difference between 'tourist photographers' and 'serious photographers'. The tourist photographers are just out to capture memories of their visit and I suspect that the word 'edit' isn't in their vocabulary, they video with their phones because that's a quick way of...

Re: Video with a mobile phone
A quick google found me a nice little free utility that will flip the video over, so I don't have to worry if I'm holding the phone the wrong way up again! As for the 'wobbles' I see Amazon lists a vast array of tripod mounts for mobile phones, so I'll be getting one of those soon. It'll have the ad...

Video with a mobile phone
Having finally decided to change my old flip-phone for a nice new smart phone I decided to see how good, or otherwise, its HD video feature was. So while I was at the Mid-Hants Railway's steam gala this weekend I used the phone as well as my Nikon D90 to take the video shots. From the results I have...

I've just watched your film John. Very good for hand held on a moving boat.
I'm not sure everyone will agree with me, but I think stabilisation would have spoilt the 'being thereness' of the film.

Re: Another You Tube question!
It sounds to me that you're trying to upload a video that's been created and written to disk as a DVD that will play on a DVD player. The likes of YouTube can't play videos like that. I think you'll need to go back to your member and get them to provide a video file in a format that can be played in...
