Re: Video Clubs and Future?

It must be frustrating to have a range of activities/workshops in your programme that on the face of it should appeal to many people, who want to improve their video skills. There is no easy answer to the need to initially attract new members and then retain them. I don't know if it is the "clu...

Re: Video Clubs and Future?

The choice of the direction a video clubs takes is one that ultimately decides if a club survives and thrives or declines and ceases to exist. In general terms the older the membership profile the greater the resistance to change and acceptance of new ideas. The day of the traditional video club, li...

Re: A New Video Magazine??!!

On review I got the wrong end of the stick and Dave and Col posts are more reflective of the thread than my own. Apologies to anyone I may have offended by my remarks.

Re: A New Video Magazine??!!

The Digital Filmaker is targeted at the independent film maker. True it's content is for the DSLR users, but to deny they are not welcome into the IAC because they do not use camcorders is surely not a desirable attribute of the subscribers to this forum. The future of film making seems to be in the...

Re: NLE Forum

Is the NLE forum a breakaway group from the IAC?
Is it an underground forum that membership is by invitation only?
Is it.......?
If it gets so much publicity in the IAC magazine, why is there not more positive responses to my question!

Look forward to finding out! :?

Re: Attracting New Members

Why not take on membership from outside the UK? We already have a few overseas members - and as the population of the rest of the world exceeds that of the UK (!) - there are more potential members 'out there'! Overseas membership fees may have to embrace extra postage of the magazine ... Regarding...

Re: Edinburgh Cine & Video Society

This response from our web master (or whatever you call your web person) should provide the answers to your browser problems:- This looks like a browser cache issue. Dave Watterson reports that he can see it with Explorer (which he doesn't usually use) but not with his usual browser, Firefox. When h...

Thanks for the information Dave. Updated my browser and can now play the BIAFF videos on my IPad. Just me getting too old to keep up with the times.

Viewing BIAFF videos

The BIAFF videos that are available on the IAC website require a Flash player to view them. This does not allow the videos to be viewed on an IPad or I Phone. Surely this is restricting the number of people who may want to see them. Flash seems to be on it's way out now that HTML5 is being promoted ...

Archiving Mini DV tapes and AVCHD tape less material

I would like to capture and archive all my dv tapes and card based AVCHD footage onto HD storage using some form of standalone programme. The programme should be able to create a database with thumbnail index of the stored material. CatDV is one of the programmes that could be used but it is only su...

Panasonic TD900 wobbly images

Taking panning shots with the TD900 at 1080p setting produces a wavy output to my monitors when loaded into my Premiere Pro cs5.5 editor. The output when viewed on the cameras HDMI output in the HD tele is sharp and ok. Has anyone come across this effect and can it be attributed to any component in ...
