Seems there has been a cock-up in the distribution - quite a few folks reporting that they got three copies. Dear me! It shouldn't be that difficult.
Anyway, they're here now and I hope you enjoy this issue.

Re: BIAFF 2024 - yes or no?
I too would be bitterly disappointed if BIAFF went south. It's our flagship event and every effort must be made to get bums onto seats for next year's event. And yes, posters, in and around Brum would be help. Happy to design them myself.
Without BIAFF I think we are nought.

35mm slide scanners
Hi folks
A friend is asking if I can recommend a good scanner to convert slides to (presume) jpegs? I can't, but I know a society of people who probably can.
Anyone?
Cheers

Still waiting to hear back from them.tom hardwick wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 5:20 pm I do hope the printers admit their fault, refund the IAC for their errors, and more importantly do some checks before they run off the next batch of FVMs. I know the images I supplied for Positive Image were all printed darker than they should've been.

Re: FVM - Feb 23 Issue
Sorry Geoff, I should have warned you. But you might have said no. Easier to seek forgiveness and all that. It is a great cover though and makes for a great read. Thanks for your time in helping me produce it. On another note, apologies that page 12 came out so dark. The page left me in good shape b...

Re: Where to get newly exposed SUPER 8 Cine film developed
Thanks Albert, I only spoke to the lad for a minute. He was asking in the shop and I overheard. The shop barely knew what Super 8 was.

Where to get newly exposed SUPER 8 Cine film developed
I met a young man in a shop in my local town today - very excited, he had bought a super 8 cine camera, projector and some unused film and has been filming. He has come up against a brick wall. WHERE TO GET THE FILM DEVELOPED? I told him I that knew of people who are cine film aficionados and that I...

Re: FVM October 2022 issue
Thanks Tim, This makes me feel better. Only this afternoon I received an 865 word letter that was a barrage of negativity about my first two issues and completely took the wind out of my sails.

Re: FVM October 2022 issue
Thank you Tom & Michael for your kind words. Positivity makes it all seem worthwhile - it is hell of a lot of work. One man band and all that. Re the dark photos: I'm reluctant to brighten the photos during edit until I'm convinced it's a consistent artefact of the print reproduction process. Re...

Re: FVM October 2022 issue
Hello Ned, Thank you for your thoughts and feedback. I'll try to answer each point in turn. The opened envelope was nothing at all to do with me. I only edit the mag and write content. I have raised the issue with Buxton Press our printer and distributor, as it seems everyone - mine included - were ...
