Re: TIME PASSING
["Dave Watterson"]Maybe it is the change of year ... but I found myself this morning wondering how we can communicate to others the sense of time passing. I hate that clock ! I hate that clock on our IAC website telling us how much time we still have to enter our films for BIAFF ! Finishi...

This still about age? If so - me=44 - hard to believe I know. Missed the discussion. Am working on films. Saw that one of my old messages appeared on this thread. I am 24. Helped Samuel. He's youngest member. He's 23. I wonder why young people like Samuel and a Peter like horror films. I have a rom...

Re: WHAT IS ENTERTAINING? WHAT IS ACCEPTABLE?
I don't find my own film "Breendonk", which is a documentary about a concentration camp, entertaining. On the contrary even. I only hope it is an interesting film. Films for BIAFF and other festivals should not always be entertaining. However, I always hope to see as many entertaining film...

I will second that. The Noble Network - as the IAC 75th Anniversary film is known is very good indeed. The subject matter was difficult ... after all IAC is an organisation and much of its work is meetings, discussions, paperwork and so on. David Andrew, who produced it, did an amazing job in bring...

Re: OPENING TITLES IN GENERAL
I love the way each of our themes on the forum bends and twists its way through lots of ideas - some only loosely connected to the starting point. I asked about logos and Willy's is the best explanation: pride in one's club. Dave I would like to repeat my question : What would you think if we use t...

Re: OPENING TITLES IN GENERAL
I love the way each of our themes on the forum bends and twists its way through lots of ideas - some only loosely connected to the starting point. Dave Yes, in Dutch it's called a "generiek". The kind of letters you use for the title is always essential. I never choose special letters. I ...

Re: Opening credits - club & personal logos
The more our club logo is shown at regional and national festival the best for the good reputation of our organisation.

Re: Opening credits - club & personal logos
I am struck by how many French and Belgian non-commercial films begin with an elaborate club title, often with a fanfare. Dave Yes, Dave, from time to time you are a little provocative. Rules are rules Most Belgian films have a logo. Once we were obliged to make one for regional and national festiv...

Re: Casablanca 2D Editor
I telephoned the Casablanca people for some tech support on this issue, and the way you can do it in Casablanca is to shell out for the pack containing the cine converter effect, which is obviously just a 2D DVE. To computer based editors it may seem like quite a lot of money for this particular pi...

I'm very confused by these answers. Maybe I'm just more senile than I thought. If projecting 16:9 on a 4:3 screen, to get the full picture there will have to be black top and bottom. Changing the picture size doesn't affect the composition, merely the size. Same way with a 4:3 pic on a 16:9 screen ...
