Great thread, guys. I guess you're all familliar with the magazine 'Small Format' - a real eye-opener in to following that film still has.

I posted one of my Super-8 films up on YouTube and one of the replies was to the effect of how good my 'film look' was.

How kind of you both to say. Yes, the Kodachrome original does look pretty good projected with an Elmo GS1200 5 or so feet wide on a big screen, the music coming from healthy speakers.

I'm sure not all projectors have this sync problem. As far as I can see the more picture processing that's applied, the later the image gets to the screen and the more out of sync with the sound it will be.

Because of the problem of picture and audio being out of sync, I wrote up about the digital audio delay corrector in Positive Image last year. See page 7 of your May/June 2006 issue.

Ian - if someone wants a VHS copy of your film, why not simply connect the VCR to the PC and burn it direct from the timeline? This will give a much better copy than going the timeline - DVD - VHS route.
