You cannot go wrong with the Sennheiser ME66 and K6 setup .... worth every penny its a great mic
the Rode NTG 01 is slightly cheaper but also a very capable mic
if you are serious about getting excellent sound into your films don't skimp on the mics!

Re: Projector Screens (again!)
16:9 is definitely the way to go... as Dave said our eyes accommodate the 4:3 on a widescreen no problem, that was a concern some members had... but it all seems to work! I think I can speak for most of the members of Newcastle ACA in saying that Billy did a great job specifying the standards we nee...

Night Time Shooting
Trying to get the best out of my Z5 while shooting several scenes at night. Virtually every type of light you could think of is in the shot, tungsten, sodium, CF, you name it its there! The camera up until now has produced some excellent images, but the main character's face is poorly visible , no m...

Re: Magix movie editor
Certainly was an informative night!
Hope to be going to town on the software
over the next few weeks to see how it
stands up against the other editing packages
On the basis of the demo it looks like interesting times ahead

Re: Should BIAFF change?
As a relative noobie to film making I have attended only a few BIAFF bashes... but of the couple attended I loved being able to put names to faces and have a good old chin wag ... me thinks the social aspect of our hobby is a huge asset and not capitalised to its full ..... but I'm afraid I'm not a ...

Re: Police info for filming in public
yea.... maybe the term "review" was wrong it is still worth writing to MP's and generating as much publicity as possible ... the government these days gives 1 and takes back 20.... the recent reports in the press stating 1 in 78 of us are being monitored for trivial things ... and hey, mon...

Although the above is only a review, the pressure must be kept up.

Re: Jammed DV Tape
:( after transferring to the donor cassette I thought it best to check the physical condition of the surface of the tape before putting it back together there is a 'smearing' on the tape surface... every couple of inches. The bottom edge of the tape has tiny equidistant kinks in it also. it has jamm...

Re: Jammed DV Tape
That's appreciated Tom...
I have the pillowcase at the ready!
Memories of stripping old Amal
carbeurettors on the kitchen table should help!
The damaged part of the tape is at the end of the footgae so it should be ok if I snip that bit off the spool.
I'll give it a go this weekend...
