Re: Double 8mm Processing?
Graeme, For your, and everybody's, information there is NOWHERE in the entire world where Kodachrome of ANY type can be processed to yield a true colour result. Kodak withdrew the supply of chemicals for the process at the end of last year and the last remaining lab, Dwayne's in America closed its s...

Re: 12v Battery
to clarify what Col said... a 4AH battery will last only 1/3 of the time of a 12 AH battery when powering the same item. You will just have to charge it more often.

Re: Copying from Humax HD digital PVR
My Humax is a Terrestrial model and not HD, so earlier comments are probably not valid. Are you trying to record direct from the HD tuner onto an external hard drive? If so, there might be a clue in this review.... http://www.techradar.com/reviews/audio-visual/digital-tv-recorders/humax-hdr-fox-t2-7...

Re: Copying from Humax HD digital PVR
I'm a TV Engineer, not a Computer Wizard, but my understanding of USB connections on Humax PVRs is that they are NOT for transferring Data. Your Instruction Book should clarify this; if there is no Instruction as to how to do it, it is not possible! Certainly on mine it isn't; the USB socket has bee...

Re: ciné projector lamps
Tom, Xenophots are not "over-run". I have used real film for many years and use my Eumigs and Elmos regularly. I have never found ANY difference in lamp life between Halogens and Xenophots, but there is a great difference in brightness. If your "Cheapo" bulb box is marked "p...

Re: ciné projector lamps
Yes, Tom. There are cheaper versions intended for use in "disco lights" and similar. Use Ebay and search for lamps SPECIFICALLY for your machine. If you can get the XENOPHOT (you can search that on Google) version you will get an even brighter picture with a small additional cost. It's a c...

Re: New Facebook Group for Amateur Filmmakers
Success! After reading their "Help" files I discovered that "de-activate" means "make inactive". There is also a procedure to "delete permanently", which claims that they will go away and never trouble you again. What a relief! It's a particular relief because...

Re: New Facebook Group for Amateur Filmmakers
Fraught gave me some good advice....... "It's all really adaptable and can really work for you, but if none of that's your bag... then stay away." Great advice...... BUT I DID try it, and could see no point whatsoever.... so I UN-SUBSCRIBED!. At least I thought I did..... but it will not g...

Re: New Facebook Group for Amateur Filmmakers
So do I; my advice is the same as for Facebook/Twitter/OMG/??? (and all the others).... forget it and stick to sending real Christmas cards! Emails are quite good because they are PRIVATE; Forums also because they discuss REAL things and are usually protected from insidious advertising designed to p...

Re: New Facebook Group for Amateur Filmmakers
What IS Facebook? On another Forum it has been described as a "place where bored teenagers can tell everybody else in the World who they just met in the Local Shopping Mall.... as if they wanted to know". Is that an accurate description? I prefer the definition... "a website where cyn...

Re: Cine equipment available ...free !
What a pity I live in England! I would happily take it off their hands, but I think the wife would draw the line at me hiring a van an going to Ireland!
