Re: Borehamwood on the brink ... ?
I'm inclined to agree with Chris (except he obviously hasn't realised that in this day and age with people having children later in life and the average age for someone now getting their first mortgage being 38, the kids aren't likely to leave home until you're 60+ !) The youngsters might well benef...

Re: Borehamwood on the brink ... ?
I thought the 'young people's' session at BIAFF was quite well supported - it was in the largest cinema (200 seats) so while there were obviously a lot of empty seats, I reckon there were at least 100 people in there - probably well over half those at BIAFF that day? That was my impression anyway. ...

Re: Borehamwood on the brink ... ?
have a go - who knows, you might even have fun!! I've been on FB for a good few years, and only occasionally have I ever been moved to comment on anything. And bear in mind that I have two adult children and two adult step children with accounts as well as two sisters and their offspring my nephews...

Re: Borehamwood on the brink ... ?
Tim ... just about to write up the next Southern Script for FVM . I'm sure they'd appreciate a mention. Ben was only too pleased when I offered to post his plight here and on the Digital Director forum. But just to expand this a little: What is it that IAC affiliated clubs are not offering that mea...

Re: Borehamwood on the brink ... ?
That's interesting Chris. I must admit to being a bit lost as to why anyone wants to become a fan of anything on Facebook (and, at 51, I'm probably younger than most of the IAC demographic as well as having been employed in IT since 1977). I'm a big fan of forums as one means of exchanging ideas, sk...

Re: Addict - Premiere
One of Fraught's films would be enough to finish off half the club - especially one that even he thinks shoud carry parental advice.
Outside filming .... Hmmmm that reminds me - we must update the website.

Sadly 'tis a club night.
Out of interest, are you hiring the room or are they letting you use it out of support for the community?

Borehamwood on the brink ... ?
I've been contacted by Ben Simon, Chariman of Borehamwood Movie Makers, to say that it look like the demise of the club is imminent unless they can generate some interest and some new members pretty quick. With his permission, I have copied his email below, but the gist is, if you know anyone to who...

Handbrake (http://handbrake.fr/) is very popular. And I've used "Super" with some successs (though it can be quite diffiult to find the link to the download: it's on this page http://www.erightsoft.com/S6Kg1.html near the bottom but NOT the button which says "download", the text ...

Re: FESTIVALS - celebrations or competitions?
I know BIAFF. It's a competition and a celebration. It has the advantage that the filmmakers already know their results some weeks before the festival. (Thanks to Peter for opening up this thread again) I'm with you Willy. It's a massive advantage that, with one or two exceptions, the winners are a...

Re: Edius 6 BEATS Premiere CS5.5
Glad you tracked down the problematic footage - inchage? - centimetreage? - but it is still intriguing ... what caused the hiccup in the first place? Whenever I come across any sort of corruption in the digital world, it causes me to take a step back and be staggered at just how little corruption t...

Re: Panasonic SD 900 help
Can't comment on how well your PC will cope with 50p, but the camera will record in a variety of formats, so if it struggles and you've no particular reason to go to 50p, you can record to 50i or 25p according to the spec on the Panasonic site. I also note that Premiere Elements 9 is a 32bit Applica...

Good point. I guess we have veered more than a little off topic. ApologiesGodfrey wrote:Thank you Tim but this post started with a request for on site training to upload video to social networking sites vis a vis Youtube and vimeo
