Re: Edius and the Edius forum

Censorship of a site should only be tolerated if it is to prevent slander and bad language. If you are looking for the best, independent equipment forums then go to The Creative Cow which is where the professionals worldwide exchange views and assist with technical queries. Almost any hardware or so...

Re: When are documentaries not movies?

Wanting to make a meaningful contribution to this interesting thread I penned what I thought was a an erudite piece only for it to disappear into the ether when I clicked 'submit'. This has happened on more than one occasion and I wonder whether others have suffered the same fate? Maybe Dave can off...

Re: What key words would identify the IAC website?

We're just 'film makers' aren't we? Can't be more descriptive than that, and I don't speak Latin or Greek.

Re: What (film related things) do you want for Christmas?

Willy dear boy,I thought you lived in a civilised country. I can get to my nearest John Lewis store in ten minutes and buy off the shelf a BD player bearing any of the main names. and have been able to for many months. Actually I consider the Panasonic to be the best but I'm sure your Sony is brilli...

Re: What (film related things) do you want for Christmas?

Please can I have the good fortune to receive divine inspiration to enable me to make a really good film? With that all you need is an iphone to film it on and imovie to edit.

Re: What key words would identify the IAC website?

The IAC is "an organisation co ordinating and connecting non commercial film makers which is based and run in the UK". Surely we can agree on that definition?

Chrisbitz, this is nothing to do with this tread but I wanted to ask you about your 'You Tube' mention. I was told that Vimeo might be the better site for longer films, also better picture quality. Do you have any views on this? I have a number of short films on You Tube, mind you I can never even f...

YouTube, Vimeo or another video host?

Chrisbitz, I wanted to ask you about your 'You Tube' mention. I was told that Vimeo might be the better site for longer films, also better picture quality. Do you have any views on this? I have a number of short films on You Tube, mind you I can never even find them so goodness knows what the point ...

Re: IAC Film Library at the East Anglian Film Archive

James, thanks, very interesting. How have you selected these films? For instance you have one of mine but it's not particularly special from the ones that you have available. You say there will be more selections which is good news, I've already seen some of the old titles from way way back that I l...

Nice to see Willy that you are still in 'good voice', we haven't heard from you in a while. By the way, how about a greeting to your friends in the South of England as well!

Re: Research Query

I'm even older than Tom (although maybe not so good memory wise!) and I thought video so ghastly that I actually gave up film making for twelve years around 1985. Having graduated to 16mm film Kodachrome from Standard 8mm in 1970 I was very keen to produce as good a picture as possible, and with the...

Re: Using a HD camcorder makes you a better videographer

Well done Dave, not so fuzzy now are you? I'm currently quite fuzzy since I'm in hospital recovering from surgery to replace my second knee (first one done fifteen years ago).

Did Lewis Cooper gravitate to 'the business' from his amateur days, a lot did of course?
