It is OK with just the films and no menu.

Usually reliable, my old Nero 4 is failing to make a DVD with 4 short films totalling about half the maximum full quality size because "transcoding of videos failed".
Any pointers to working out why, please?

SOLVED! But some mystery remains. More checking of settings revealed that the compressor on the export settings had changed themselves (I never touch things like this) from Microsoft avi Pal to Cinepak something and the Microsoft PAL wasn't listed as an option though several others were. Though I understood that digital didn't suffer from drop-out like analogue because of some techie stuff I don't understand and certainly found it trouble-free.
