Re: Serif Movieplus x6

Some help is available at https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index. ... lus-range/

but maybe you should consider a new edit system ... there are many at low prices and good free ones.

Re: Serif Movieplus x6

Can you tell us which codes it requires?

It is often possible to find them on the internet, though unofficial sources have to be treated with caution.

Re: The weird world of Film Festivals

How much pleasure can a film maker get from having her/his film selected by many festivals, if there is no chance for them to attend?

Re: The weird world of Film Festivals

Hi Michael Yes, the UNICA Festival is a competition between the member countries, so each selects a programme of films to represent their land. Unfortunately there has always been a time limit per country, which makes it difficult or impossible to include long films. If that had not been so, more of...

Re: The weird world of Film Festivals

Thanks, Ned. We often make remarks like this ... but coming from someone now resident in the USA it has much greater weight. I hope you will excuse me making the quick aside, that the UNICA Festival is in a special class, because pre-selection is done by each member country picking which films will ...

Re: UNICA 2024 in Poland

Jan and I have just ordered and paid for our UNICA 2024 Congress Cards (tickets) plus an excursion to the city of Gniezno. (UNICA excursions are usually to places with interesting architecture and video/photo possibilities ... but 90% of the fun is with the people coming with us. There is still time...

Re: Abacus !!

Short and sweet - like so many of your films. I found myself starting to think about Osvaldo Cavandoli's "La Linea" series and Chuck Jones ... but it was the use of colour which transformed the film for me. That gave it life and personality in a way I cannot clearly explain. Your mind is s...

Too much drone footage?

After BIAFF 2024 I began to wonder if we are having too much drone footage. It is (relatively) new for amateur film makers, so there is a novelty factor. Sometimes it is used to obtain unusual angles or to mimic the old Hollywood crane shots at the start and end of a film ... but so often there are ...

Re: BIAFF 2024 - yes or no?

Thank you, Willy. HUBERTUS is now among the films on our "Watch" page https://www.biaff.org.uk/2024-watch-on-line.html We have far too few films from the area of Europe where GEMMA handles music copyright issues. People seem timid about making their films available for a worldwide audience.

UNICA 2024 in Poland

The entries are now in for the UNICA Congress and Festival, which will be held in Poznan, Poland on 18th - 23rd August. As yet I don't know if all 28 countries in UNICA have sent films, but most will have picked 40 minutes worth of the best from their country, which they think will please / amuse / ...

Re: BIAFF 2024 - yes or no?

Does anyone know any other entries for BIAFF 2024, which are online at YouTube, Vimeo or DailyMotion - but which we do not have on the https://www.biaff.org.uk/2024-watch-on-line.html page?

Re: Lip Synch

Not about making films ... but when running a school film appreciation club we played music as people came in. That meant driving to my block of flats, climbing three stories, collecting two wardrobe-sized speakers (actually about 48" x 30" x30" but made of chipboard), packing them in...

Not sure anyone kept a record but the attendee figures were in the 40s most nights.
