Dear all, Sorry for the long time no see on here. Time does fly so quickly and we have changed Internet providers to BT so we need to work out an email address. Ok... Re Subject.... Now we have all planned to Interview people on camera. I`ve done normal interviews for my films with local people who ...

Re: Should juries "police" film competitions?
It should have been the responsability of The Competition Secretary to check if the films qualified or not. He really should have disqualified all of them, if he had the balls to do it. If not then they need someone else! As to Nordfilm. They should have made it clearer in the film rules. May be the...

Re: A soundcard for editing HDV
I don`t edit in HDV (But it`s one of my Dreams to!) I use premiere Pro 1.5. The soundcard I use had Dolby Digital on so this should be OK, unless I`ve missed the point of this Thread (which won`t be the first time!). The card and all the speakers can be had for about 70 quid I think. They're about 4...

They may have contact details on the IAC`s website... or they may be my Details, as I was club sec when I put them up! If they're mine the...

Re: Finding Actors
The Obvious way would be to look up Theatre groups in your area! Or better still, contact your local college! My son is on an Acting Course and has done 3 years of the 4 year course or is it four years. It seems like ages anyway! I`m sure that if you offer to pay a few quid in bus fares to anybody w...

Re: NLE FORUM
I did wonder why I still got emails from the NLE groups, and can even post to them even through I was not a member of the IAC. It must be because I belong to a film club!

Re: Be careful putting films on YouTube and Google
Thank you David for your Wisdom and very important information. Me personaly, I will continue to do as I have ALWAYS done. If I choose to use a bit of copyrighted music in one of my films then I will. If I want to put it onto YouTube, I will. I still work on the principle of that I am in NO WAY maki...

Re: Should competitions only accept new movies?
I did a Clip film of some of my first DV films. I filmed myself standing in front of my Blue screen and had me waving my hand across the screen. In the final edited version, I was moving different screens across with different films showing. I then pressed a computer generated button with sound effe...

Re: You can 'see' the burnt part of a DVD
As to Quality loss that was mentioned...... We are led to believe that with digital we don`t lose quality. I think this! But let`s look at this the following way! You burn a film onto DVD. You make a copy and if there are any problems, error correction takes care of it and the new copy has this new ...

Re: Horror in my country
Every country has their @astards and this bloke IS one! Australia had a dad dropping one of his kids off a tall bridge! I wouldn`t even waste a bullet on them! I`d get a blunt blade and really slowy cut their throat. What a cheery subject! Must have been started from Europe somewhere   :...

Re: Avoiding grainy images when filming in poor light
There are many ideas here are a few! An example late at night in the woods. get lights and hide them behind trees or bushes. this way the scene is lit and gives it a nice earie feel. Use a light or a torch and shine it at the person or reflect it onto the person to give just that bit more light. I t...
