It should be Sunday 22nd - you heard it here first!
The BIAFF website will announce it then.

Re: Jameela Boardman's Article FVM October 2019
Jill mentions a very important fact: the IAC is run by a small group of people, who in addition to all the normal work and family demands on their time are involved in running their clubs and often running their regions. There is not much time and energy left over for running national events, whethe...

Re: Jameela Boardman's Article FVM October 2019
John - I missed your comments on social media and IAC We have had a Facebook page for several years: "IAC - the film and video institute " and a Twitter feed of the same name. Geoff Harmer started them and I have been occasionally updating both from time to time. The problem is much the same as with...

Re: My club at UNICA
No offence taken, Michael ... things can get hectic at UNICA and as one of the most recognisable folk there, I am frequently collared by delegates. But Jan and I made time, of course, to catch up with Willy and Vera. We escaped to a Thai restaurant a few doors away from the Figi Hotel, which was the...

Re: No film about Highland Games! Bad luck again!
At UNICA in the Netherlands Willy had better luck and better weather.
It is wonderful that so many film friends can get together and seeing Willy and Vera smiling at me from under a sun-shade as they enjoyed a refreshing drink made my day.

Re: My club at UNICA
Well I should be there! Hi WIlly - it will be good to meet you, Vera and some members of one of your clubs (!) in Zeist. Thursday has a long lunchtime, though Jan and I will be with the members of the "Friends of UNICA" organisation for much of that. But between the films there are many other long p...

Re: Exterior Filming in the 'North' this Summer
I know there has been a certain degree of despondency as much-loved and respected regional officers retired or in some cases passed away ... but the North-West and North-East of England is packed with talented film makers. You must be out and about shooting this summer, so do contact Jameela and let...

Re: Asus monitors
A google search for ""asus VN247" manual" provides several sources, though those documents are not too helpful They do indicate that there should be a 4:3 option.
It is also worth checking on the Asus website under "support" for any drivers that may be needed.

Re: Filming Children
I don't have expertise in this area, but: There is no law against photographing or filming children, provided the images are decent in nature. It is still wise to obtain permission, if possible from the parents. When you ask for permission to film children it can often be useful to keep the camera r...

How strange - the link takes me directly to the film.
If you try "https://vimeo.com/smallpersonproductions" can you see it on the list of productions?

Re: SERIAC Festival 2019
Howard - the SERIAC Festival website says: "... all amateur movie makers in the South East region of the United Kingdom (South of the Thames and into Kent, Surrey, Sussex - and the Channel Islands)" I also regret the lack of film makers, but it seems to be the case at most festivals. Inevitably it i...

Re: SERIAC Festival 2019
It will be lovely to meet up with you and Vera again in Zeist. It has been far too long since we last saw you.
The SERIAC has always had a good reputation and sometime we must try to get to the Oast House ourselves.

FVM Magazine May 2019
My copy arrived yesterday and looks just as sleek as ever. There are a few design changes and Cathy will be pleased that the back cover has changed! Most of it is very like the previous incarnation. I spotted a couple of misplaced picture captions but that is not untypical. But Tom, Ken, Willy and N...
