Re: A New Video Magazine??!!
Nice to see that Lee is back writing with bite again rather just sending me all his international jokes. I've got pages of them now! However, to the point, magazines. Being ex marketing I do not think that there is sufficient interest in a dedicated magazine from those who could possibly advertise.T...

Re: Short Films
I am one of the long film brigade and have been chastised many times over the length. To supplement my pension I make SIV's about the heritage of my area. These are usually dvd's with a duration of around 2hrs30 to 2hrs45 mins..... and lots of people buy them! They do not have to be viewed all in on...

Funny videos
I spend a lot of my time going round to senior citizens groups, clubs, societies etc giving video talks, usually about our local heritage or my travels. I show myown videos but do like to to start the shows off with a couple of SHORT funnies. The trouble is now that I am being asked back more than o...

Marketing of SIV's
I am setting up a website ostensibly to sell my own high quality heritage dvd's. However I was wondering if there are any other members who have heritage dvd's which they would like marketing? I must emphasise that they must be HIGH QUALITY HERITAGE dvd's and I will expect to view them before they a...

Re: Judges and their credibility
Well I certainly started something when I began this topic and I have been fascinated to watch how the subject has evolved. But guess where we are now after decimating several other topics? Back at travel and holiday videos! Whatever has been said I will still carry on making my documentaries and tr...

Re: Judges and their credibility
Sorry Willy,
Have just seen the last post which is supposedly attributed to me. It is not mine and also, I do not go for films with storylines of that nature.

Re: Judges and their credibility
Good morning Willy, Yes, I have been a judge on several occasions and I must say that I do enjoy the role. I do have respect for Dave Watterson, only because he has earned it, unlike many of the so called "judges" that float through our videography structure. So many "judges" cou...

Judges and their credibility
Somewhere amongst this electronic mire are comments about judges at competitions. Some are quite critical. However I would like to relate a very short tale to you all. I am a member of Morecambe Bay Movie Makers and we invariably submit an entry in the Burnley Film Festival each year. For the last b...

Re: SUPPORT YOU LOCAL SHER... CLUB/FESTIVAL
Afternoon Dave, After reading some very nice things about The Erics it has made me feel a little easier about the non appearance of our local clubs. However, after I cleared everything up for this year I gave my club, Morecambe Bay Movie Makers, the opportunity to run this successful event on their ...

Morecambe Bay International Video Competition- The Erics
I have just "discovered" the IAC forums and I am glad to see several compliments about the competition that I organised . It really was a great challenge and after having successfully pulled everything together with several members from Morecambe Bay Movie Makers I decided that I would now...

Re: SUPPORT YOU LOCAL SHER... CLUB/FESTIVAL
Dear IAC members, It was nice to receive some comments regarding my letter to Tripod, the magazine for our clubs in the North West regarding "The Erics". Yes, I was really annoyed that having spent over seven months pulling together this very successful international video competition that...
