I've submitted two short films - first time I've entered in ages. One is a joint entry with a fellow Tynemouth Video Group member, which has a (possible) surprise ending. The other is a one minute film with a (definite) surprise ending!
Let's hope I get a nice surprise from the judges!

Re: CHEAP PRESENTS FOR FILM MAKERS
I like the look of that 'roller skate' contraption, John. Can you give us more details, please? Incidentally, (and hijacking the thread, slightly) I saw your film 'Acid Rain' at the NECA 'Open' and 'Holiday' competitions last night at Newcastle ACA. Although it did not win an award I thought it was ...

Re: YouTube music copyright query
I see it has worked - and it has also added my signature to my previous posts!
- Which means my second post doesn't make much sense any more.
Never mind, you live and learn!

Re: YouTube music copyright query
Thank you Dave - I would never have worked out that procedure by myself!
I will give it a go and get back to you in due course.
By the way, it was impolite of me not to have signed out at the end of my last post
So I'll do it now - twice to make up!

YouTube music copyright query
On the main IAC site under 'Resources' it tells us how to upload videos to the web (YouTube in my case), and reassures us that having the IAC Music Licences (which I have) should avoid any copyright problems. The problem is, how can you explain to YouTube you have one and quote the numbers? Is there...

Re: MIN DV TAPE / STOREAGE
Hi Lee Regarding your comments on DVD Gold Discs Firstcall Photographic of Taunton are selling Delkin DVD-R Archival Gold discs, "safe for 100 years", at £59.99 for pack of 25. Seems a lot cheaper than the ones you were quoted for! Worth checking out!? PS Saw some of your videos at Coast V...

Re: MiniDV tapes
With the general consensus being that (home-produced) DVDs have a relatively short life, which rules them out for serious video archiving, I was surprised to see that my local Pound-Stretcher store has the "Mr. DVD" brand of single use DVD-R (at 4 for 99 pence) claiming a "lifetime gu...

Re: At the end of a project ...
Hello fellow videomakers - this is my first posting (if that is the correct terminology!) I always transfer completed projects onto MiniDV tape, with a new tape for each project. That way I can have different versions of each project archived together. I must admit with some I find it difficult to d...
