Insurance for film shows

Can anyone help us find insurance, principally 3rd party liability, but better if equipment were covered, for a private individual doing film/video shows to groups such as Probus, churches, etc., on a charitable basis in the group's own meeting place? Does anyone feel the need for such insurance? Wo...

Computer speakers for voices on zoom

My present speakers emphasise the boominess of some zoom meeting contributions even with bass (on the bass speaker) turned down fully. I don't listen to music on the PC and we are both losing the top of of our hearing range and use subtitles on TV to help. Can anyone recommend speakers which are eit...

Effect of polarising filters

During what I remember as a very brief summer I sent away for a pair of clip-on sunshades. Very thin tinted plastic, they surprised me by giving the impression of separating the planes of a middle-range view in the garden - foreground, middle and more than 20 feet, say in a way that I have never not...

Re: FVM articles

What are LUTS?
I had a bellows lens hood on my first Hi8 camcorder which took graduated filters but have never had such on digital models and am not adept enough to cobble up a support. I nearly always used them on landscapes here (E.Lancs) as the sky is rarely attractive.

Re: MP4 from Sony vegas

Sorry! As usual I have found one answer before you've had time to reply - the firewire wasn't plugged in!
So Serif will be easier next time.

MP4 from Sony vegas

Before you say this has been asked by me before in 2018 which I had completely forgotten about it's not quite the same. I want an mp4 file from a DVCAM copy of a std.8 film. On Serif I exported it as mp4 easily enough; it's one of the export options, but it takes a while and as I couldn't seem to co...

Re: Website providers

Thanks,Jameela. Frank used Facebook himself. I don't think it brought us any enquiries. Glad to see you are still in touch with the IAC.

Website providers

Pendle MM made the mistake of not arranging a deputy web site manager when we set up ours (www.pendlemoviemakers.com) and now Frank Walsh has died in circumstances which gave no possibility of arranging for someone to take over we are left with trying to arrange something with Wix. But they want det...

Re: COVID-19

Had forgotten about this until receiving the Richard Palmer nudge. Pendle's only significant news has been the death of Frank Walsh which has saddened us greatly and as he organised our website led to even that news not being as widely shared as we would ordinarily have done. It will be in FVM. The ...

Re: COVID-19

Ludicrously late catching on to this. Pendle's ASDA meeting room was closed to us so we had little choice but to suspend our programme which I am sure we would have done anyway as most of us are in the 'do not leave your home category'. We personally are OK, knowing of people infected but none as cl...

Re: Picasa replacement for windows 10

Thanks,Tom. I have been meaning to reply to myself but keep forgetting. I have since posting the query discovered that Picasa works OK on Windows 10 and the aid who said it wouldn't has made it the default again.

Picasa replacement for windows 10

Picasa did all I needed for my level of photo acquisition, storage and simple edit.
What's the best replacement, please?
