Thanks, Dave and Howard.
When I have decided on my length of stay and mode of transport, I'll take your advice and use Trivago or another. The prices I found were from booking on the Premier Inn website for a weekend in March, just to see what the price was like.

Re: A bit of Halloween type
Yes, Albert, a lot has happened since we were in regular contact. I'm keeping quite well despite a few medical issues. My wife was very ill from mid 2022 and died last July from pancreatic cancer. So, I have been out of touch for some time. This forum has now taken the place of the on-line community...

Brilliant, Albert. Good to see you are still an active animator, and haven't lost your sense of humour

Re: Where next for the IAC?
Talking about making BIAFF more attractive, I wonder if Birmingham is the right location. I've just been looking at what it might cost me to attend this year. The cheapest hotel in the area, Premier Inn, would charge me about £300 for two nights, and doesn't include any food. Car parking for 48 hour...

Re: Where next for the IAC?
Yes, Dave, the IAC is shrinking, but BIAFF is still maintaining a high level of entries. That could mean that the proportion of IAC members who are entering BIAFF is declining. Perhaps we need to make BIAFF entrants aware that the competition can only survive if more of them become IAC members.

Re: FVM October 2022 issue
I like it, Martin. Well laid out and easy to read. Quality of illustrations excellent. One slight niggle; I'm not keen on script written over background images, as on pages 4, 5, 12, 13, 14, 15, 28 to 35. Other than that, for me, it's excellent.

Re: THE BIAFF WEEKEND
Coming into this discussion a bit late, as I have only recently joined the forum (shame !). I too enjoyed the BIAFF weekend, not always agreeing with the film ratings, of course. That's the nature of this art form. One thing that I find does detract from the enjoyment of a film is sub-titles. Also, ...
