Update. The breakaway to Scotland didn't happen. Something, as it always does, came up!Dave Watterson wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 12:05 pm Have a great time. Some of my childhood holidays were in Galloway with an aunt who ran a one-teacher primary school and an uncle who was a joiner and the local undertaker.

Re: IAC Website
Dear Martin ... welcome to the ranks of "daft buggers" who have kept IAC afloat for so many decades! Each of those tasks: magazine editor, webmaster and house mover is a full-time job-and-a-half! Are you seeing sense and moving to Scotland?!?>! WE're massive Scotlandophiles. And in fact, ...

Re: IAC Website
The issue with site certificates has been resolved, thanks to Richard Palmer of Merula. IT IS PERFECTLY SAFE TO BROWSE THE NEW IAC WEBSITE AT THE SAME ADDRESS: WWW.THEIAC.ORG.UK Thank you Dave. I've already removed the members only page. It was just a quick trial. But may re-appear once I've worked...

Re: IAC Website
I'm with Michael here. Online mags never last long. I may make it available to members via the website but I would hope that the print version will continue. There used to be a UK high street magazine called (i think) Moviemaker. I once wrote an article for it. Anyway, due to cash crisis they decide...

*** PHOTOS FROM BIAFF *** This is a call for your photos from BIAFF for FVM. I do already have the official ones from John Smith, but looking for variety and added interest also. Please can you email them to me at editorFVM@arenig.co.uk Can't guarantee to use them - not a lot of space left - but if ...

Re: BIAFF 2024 - yes or no?
I was unable to make BIAFF (again!) this year. It always seems to clash with a Goalball Tournament, and as the coach... my team needs me. :-) I'd be very interested to hear anyone's thoughts on my film 'The Little Ones' that was screened on Friday night. I'm just making some final tweeks to it, so ...

Re: BIAFF 2024 - yes or no?
I hope they didn't mark it down just because they didn't like it. Whether we like a film or not shouldn't have anything to do with it (though I imagine we are all influenced by our likes and dislikes). Comedy has the biggest problem here. If you don't like the humour, how can you possibly tell if t...

Re: BIAFF 2024 - yes or no?
But "Elise", dear me. Imagine it will not be screened at BIAFF! Last year it was not shown either. And "Elise" (in my opinion) deserved more than 5 stars! And this time it is also entertaining for those who hate mysterious movies. It didn't need any subtitling nor any narration....

Re: Where next for the IAC?
I'm gonna make my suggestion again (which I have done a number of times in the past)... I've always said that written feedback on a BIAFF entry, should be provided to IAC Members only. BIAFF is one of only a handful of festivals in the world that provide written feedback for free, in fact it might ...

Re: 14th Edinburgh Short Film Festival Open For Entries - International Showcases & Awards
Too late for the Jan/Feb FVM but I've left myself a note for the issue after which I start work on soon.
