Re: Are AI productions really videos ?
I love the idea that we are the true gate-keepers of ye olde filmmaking.

Re: Are AI productions really videos ?
(In case you missed it - my thoughts on this as they appeared in the October FVM) Now, I have to be careful how I write this piece as I don’t want it to come across as sour grapes... But there is now an elephant in the room, a bull in the proverbial china shop, a trump in the White House so to speak...

Re: Editing multi-camera music videos
What Tim says any modern editor meets this criteria. I use Vegas Pro. (was Sony). An excellent editor. DaVinci good too, but can be quite a learning curve.

Re: BIAFF 2025 - results and more
On another note... my short 4* film 'Shhhhh' is being screened on Saturday at the festival... and sadly for yet another year, I am unable to make it. I'm a Goalball Coach and my team need me ;) But if anyone does see it, I'd love to know what you think of it. I'll take all of your feedback on the c...

Re: Forum chat in FVM
One more thing. My original grouchy post was written at the end of a bad day at the end of a difficult week.

Re: Forum chat in FVM
You're right Tom, it's entirely because I came after 8mm, Super 8mm, 9mm etc. But I do have to remember the age group of *most* of our readership. That all said, all of the active film-makers are using digital filmmaking techniques and some even AI. So, do I produce a mag for a declining demographic...

Re: Forum chat in FVM
A busy and active forum could well be summarised into an interesting page within FVM. It would be all the more viable if more people became involved on here. I've pushed it in the past within the mag to little avail. And years ago there used to be a summary of the forums (fora?). But at the time I f...

Re: Forum chat in FVM
I agree that this forum is a great way to communicate and I've plugged it several times within FVM to little avail.
I agree though that YouTube can & does answer most tech questions
We are all slowly becoming obsolete
But a robot can't yet make a funny film...

Re: Forum chat in FVM
Well, as present editor, I have read this now. 1. I remember FVM trawling the forum in the past in order to fill a page. I thought it was dreadful content and smacked of desperation/apathy. 2. There is so little activity on here to make even a summary regular page. 3. I agree re all the reminiscence...

Update. The breakaway to Scotland didn't happen. Something, as it always does, came up!Dave Watterson wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 12:05 pm Have a great time. Re: IAC Website
Dear Martin ... welcome to the ranks of "daft buggers" who have kept IAC afloat for so many decades! Each of those tasks: magazine editor, webmaster and house mover is a full-time job-and-a-half! Are you seeing sense and moving to Scotland?!?>! WE're massive Scotlandophiles. And in fact, ...

Re: IAC Website
The issue with site certificates has been resolved, thanks to Richard Palmer of Merula. IT IS PERFECTLY SAFE TO BROWSE THE NEW IAC WEBSITE AT THE SAME ADDRESS: WWW.THEIAC.ORG.UK Thank you Dave. I've already removed the members only page. It was just a quick trial. But may re-appear once I've worked...

Re: IAC Website
I'm with Michael here. Online mags never last long. I may make it available to members via the website but I would hope that the print version will continue. There used to be a UK high street magazine called (i think) Moviemaker. I once wrote an article for it. Anyway, due to cash crisis they decide...
