Re: DVD storage

Thanks for the pricing update, John. I bought a couple of hundred of these cases several years back and will run out in a few months time, so will now investigate your suggested sources. I agree they are somewhat brittle, but I've yet to break one (apart from one I trod on!)

Re: DVD storage

Hi Peter, I use clear CD Jewel Cases (Slimline) (Maplin Code GH57M) These are cheap as chips (£4.99 for ten) and two of these cases will fit into a standard jewel case storage unit slot. Far better than the plastic envelope route, and an adhesive label on the outside can indicate everything that's i...

Re: Voice recorders

Hi Tim Your point 1. Yes, in practice, PZMs placed on the table can pick up some low level ambient noise, but no more than is ‘natural’ to the ear and certainly no more than any other mic would register (I think the table cloth has some effect here). I have found that the resultant recording is usua...

Re: Voice recorders

Hi Judy, My knowledge of audio recorders is now too out of date to be able to offer advice on this element of the equation, but having specialized in the video recording of choirs, concerts and amdram antics over the years, I have had fair experience of the choice of mics for these activities, and I...

Re: Adobe Premiee glitch

Hi John. Your observations are absolutely valid, and I totally agree with you. My PC had a major overhaul and upgrade in 2010 (as a result of a hard drive failure) and the OS changed to Win 7 in 2014. Apart from the present problem(s) I’ve had no major difficulties in that time (apart from those cau...

Re: Adobe Premiee glitch

Hi John. Thanks for your comments. Following your advice, I have gone down the ‘compatibility’ route you outlined, but to no avail. In fact, before I could complete this series of trials, the program stopped working altogether! All attempts to resuscitate it failed, so the old trick of uninstall/rei...

Re: Adobe Premiee glitch

Thanks Peter. Uninstal/reinstall was tried a while ago, but to no effect. However, it would be worth trying again, so I’ll do this over the weekend. Your comment re XP has re-kindled my (very vague) suspicion that Win 7 has something to do with this problem; I will research this line of enquiry. Onc...

Adobe Premiee glitch

For a number of years now, I have used (don’t laugh!) an ancient Adobe Premiere 6.0 editing program. Although this is obsolete, I’m much too long in the tooth and very reluctant to take on the learning curve of a new up to date equivalent with all it’s bells and whistles, most of which I won’t need ...
