Blurred video when played on time line.
Here's a puzzle. One clip of video when placed on my CS6 time line looks fine until actually played when it becomes slightly blurred. It's an out door shot of a hall with a notice board showing hall details. There is no need for it to be a moving shot so I did a 'frame capture' but even that looks OK when placed but becomes blurred when played. I have tried all the various clip adjustments I can think of (too many to list) all to no avail. Any suggestions on this one please.
Cheers. Pete.

Please open a new sequence by dragging the clip in the media bin window onto the NEW icon.
A new sequence will open with just the clip inside, play the clip and report back on what you see

Hi Col,
Thanks for that suggestion. This I have tried but still the same problem. No trouble with all the other clips in the project. The easiest way I suppose is to visit the location and take a shot with my still camera.
Any further ideas welcome of course.

Re: Blurred video when played on time line.
Have you got your playback resolution set to half and your paused resolution set to full by any chance?
right click in the middle of your display viewer and see what it is set to, its all I can think of I'm afraid.

Have you rendered the clip?
Also what version of cs6 are you using?
The version is under help>about

Re: Blurred video when played on time line.
Thanks Both,
Your answer Kevin is spot on. One learns something new every day. I will admit I had never heard of that menu and even if I had it would have meant nothing to me at all. I had never even tried right clicking in the middle of the display. I tried it and - low & behold - the playback resolution was set to half. One click on that and all was well.
I tried looking at other clips in that project and other projects and they were all set to full. It makes me wonder just why that one clip had managed to be changed. Perhaps it's just one of those odd things that computers do.
Anyhow, the problem is solved and thanks to you Kevin for the answer and to Col for trying his best.
Cheers.

Re: Blurred video when played on time line.
You are very welcome Pete, I'm glad I could help
It is a very useful feature in Premier and one to remember, it does save a fair bit of processing power if you're working with a big project.
Cheers,
Kev
