adding timecode to existing timeline

Post by Peter Copestake »

Sorry if this has been answered before. I want to show a 30 minute film to a group to identify people on it. Is it easy to add a time code using Premiere 6.5? Or should I film a kitchen timer and superimpose that to the timeline?

Peter

Go to the Effects tab and type in the search box ......timecode.

You should then see the effect that can be added to a track, depending upon the Premiere version you may need to add a black video over the whole of the track, this needs to be on the highest numbered track, the black will be keyed out by the timecode effect so that you just have the numbers.

Thank you Colin. It seems my Premiere 6.5 is too basic/old to have the feature you advised so it is back to the kitchen timer. I don't expect to have to do this again. If I do a clleague who can will have to step in. Thanks for quick response.
