The most viewed amateur footage of all time?

An interesting fact I've noticed this week regarding the digital transfers of Abraham Zapruder's Kennedy assignation Standard-8 footage.

Although it was shot in 4:3 the transfers have been done across the entire width of his 8mm film. He used one of those cameras that I've often come across in my film transfer work - a camera that had a very wide gate, allowing perfectly good image information the be recorded between the film's perforations.

Normally of course the projector's gate masked this all off and you were left with the 4:3 image just as you saw in the camera's viewfinder, but the investigators have been pleased to discover so much more information had been unwittingly recorded.
