EPH HOROWITZ 1916 - 2012

Post by Dave Watterson »

One of the greats of our movement worldwide passed away last week. Ephraim Horowitz organised an American chapter of the IAC, which became in 1960 the American: Society of Amateur Cinematographers (SAC). That in turn was renamed Amateur Movie Makers Association (AMMA) and was active until 2009.

Eph's outspoken nature and New York manner was held in great affection because he was such a good friend, regular correspondent and good film maker.
You can see tributes to him on the AMPS Website: http://ampsvideo.com

We believe this is his last film. It is brisk, funny and very much an Eph film:

Thanks for the links, Dave. I found the film a bit "tell us something we don't know" for a while, but once he got into the "What can you buy for a penny?" I was right there with him.
