Vegas Pro - Future?

Post by ned c »

Just back from the NAB show (National Association of Broadcasters) and as a Vegas user went to the Sony booth for news. Sony Creative Software were not shown at all on the Sony Booth and I could not get an explanation from the Sony people I spoke with. There was a very small demonstration of Browser/Catalyst/Catalyst Edit which are designed for TV program makers to share shots on the cloud. These have very limited capabilities, e.g. Catalyst Edit cannot create titles! Even the demonstrator seemed uncertain of what they are intended for. At Grass Valley Edius was being well demonstrated but there are rumors of it becoming subscription software.

Thanks Ned. That is worrying (but pretty much expected) news for all of us Vegas users.
