Gloat away, just dont spill any of the Long Island Iced Teas.
Whilst your there with all the sand getting in the camera kit and Sun playing havoc with the settings, we are having a great time with the icy winds, ( do I sound convincing?)
Enjoy.

Its freezing out there.
So PMM are making a movie and some bright wag has the idea of some external night shots to add some ambiance. We chose the coldest night of the year and as cameraman my little pinkies are still frozen. Oh the joys of movie making! Mental note......must remember to take more AA batteries for the ligh...

Re: Archiving
Andrew I would save twice, once in MP4 format and once using Canopus's own file format which is less compressed. Then save both files to another hard drive, preferrably an external drive which you only use to archive material. You may also like to check out Red Giants instant HD software, I have got...

Re: Video file query
Peter A Mov file is a container for a MP4 file, unfortunately Apple in their wisdom, amend the specifications of all their file formats with the resultant effect that there are a myrriad of file permutations. To manage these permutations requires a good editing software system with the right codecs,...

Re: February FVM - A picture worth a thousand words
On the very positive side at least the visuals were far more stable from the past few years where we have one after the other BBC documentary featuring overly exagerated shaky shots.
Now all we need them to get rid of is the over usage of the out of focus cutaway or long duration pulled focus.

Re: Amazing drone shots
Great shots. There was a reported near miss in the UK when some idiot flew his drone close to a passenger jet near on of our major airports. There are leglislative flying rules in place in the UK which are basically no fly zones unless you are qualified and have permission from the CAA via air traff...

Where did BIAFF going online come from? Not from me It is the mag that should go online. Did Garths recent article not indicate that over half our subscription goes in producing and distributing the mag? Ever heard of iPads and Kindle? I have hundreds of books and mags on my ipad, which also takes g...

Re: Pan. DMC-FZ72 camera
I would suggest that he goes to a camera shop armed with an SD card and test shoots a few video clips, takes the card home and see if the same result occurs. Whilst not the same camera my Wife has just got an FZ200 but not used it for video, we will try it over the weekend to see if the same thing h...

First the mag has to go, it is too much of a drain on our subscriptions. The mag content needs to go online and be updated regularly in a similar manner to the mag. Get advertising on the website and links to generate income from the website. More encouragement for online movie competitions, top thr...

Re: Native HDV and AVCHD in Prem Pro 5.5
Import all the clips into Premieres media bin, select one AVCHD clip then right click and select new sequence from clip option. This will make the sequence perfect for the AVCHD clips You will have to play with mixing both formats on the timeline to see what works best, try the AVCHD first. It is a ...

Re: FVM MAGAZINE - DECEMBER 2014
I wish now that I had read the issue instead of quickly scanning it and putting it in the recycling. I saw the image and chuckled, an old guy in a badly fitting IAC shirt and battered IAC cap advertising the merchandise, yep a great image to take the rcpa (rearrange) out of the IAC, and just exactly...
