Re: PANASONIC LUMIX GH 4
Thanks Dave for your prompt. I had in the meantime contacted the supplier in Germany. I didn't expect a prompt or any reply. They were most helpful and I have a solution. It 'works' - if that's the correct word - OK now. The Panasonic Lumix GH-4 has an Anamorphic setting. It needs explains in detail...

PANASONIC LUMIX GH 4
I'm not clear whether my earlier post was uploaded correctly. I have just purchased a SIRIU 35mm ANAMORPHIC lens for use with my GH-4. I have some issues with it. My camera is up to spec with the firmware but the squeezed image just does not appear to be correct to me. I can de-squeeze it in FCP X o...

Re: SCRIPTS ...
I have seen 'Two Soups' being performed by an amateur company on stage, but royalties had to be paid - Doubt if film rights could be afforded! P.

Re: Young Faces at BIAFF 2017
Taking Tim Stannard's advice by clicking the link to see 'Goth on the Beach'. I thought it was excellent, a pickup of some very amusing moments and overall fine film. Animation takes load and loads of patience and the maker deserves more credit. I didn't go the to the Young peoples show because I ch...

Re: SHOWMANSHIP
Yes, I agree. The more of the showman you are the better. One of my hobby horses. When I lived in France, I had the opportunity of seeing one of my drama films shown on a clubs large screen. It was large. The impact was immense. Looking at it, I said to myself, did I really make that film? We should...

1066 and 4K and all that.
I have not been on the forum for some time, so whether this topic has been well and truly roasted I don't know. They say that an Ill wind..behind every cloud....Well my ill wind was that about a month ago on the last day of a holiday in France, I had all my camera equipment stolen . I won't go into ...

Re: Amazing
I use a DSLR for both movie and photography Peter. When in the 'movie' mode the camera settings can be changed to reduce the colour, contrast and increase the softness of the image. The image can then be manipulated and corrected in editing to get the 'look' you may require. This takes out the clini...

Disappointed
I am disappointed that this proposal is not being openly applauded in these columns. I find it very exciting that Kodak are having a renaissance of Super 8 with a new camera and technological advances. I have often been tempted to buy a couple of film cassettes and put them into my old and dusty Bau...

Not this year - still recoiling from the negative impact of a regional event!

Re: You Tube .......again
You Tube again. I have used 'Audionetwork' for all my music either for personal films to friends and family or for festivals and competitions. The cost is minimal only £1 for each piece. I feel safer with this than the IAC licence. To my knowledge and having asked the question to several of the IAC ...

Re: What excites you about your club's programme?
I was so excited about my clubs programme of 'more of the same' I have looked elsewhere. No speakers, no practical evenings just competitions when very few members make films and are entertained by showing old films. My 'look'' elsewhere looks promising and also I have attended a couple of meetings ...

Re: Living with the iMac.
I appreciate what you say Ned, but we all are affected by changes of formats, systems and operating systems. In the normal cycle of mortality, everything gets old out of date gets defunct and dies. My experience with PC's is a long and sorry one, at the end they just die and during their lifetime th...

Re: Living with the iMac.
I am happy to see that there is a forum presence for the iMac. I am just celebrating with a Facebook post, the first anniversary of the purchase of an iMac. After many years of PC's, configurations, crashes, the dreaded blue screen and then total crashes, I decided to go back to my roots in computin...

Re: BIAFF 2015 entries
Disillusioned after the receipt of my *** (Three Star) adjudication of my 1960’s drama film entered into this years BIAFF. For me, it was a long hard toil, hit several give-up stages and detrimental to my health over last year. I slogged on until just before Christmas, having edited the scenes as I ...

Re: BIAFF 2015 entries
HELLO WILLY! good to hear from you again, hope you are now doing OK . I have to be careful writing French as I usually have a 'prof' watching over my shoulder telling me 'I should know that' when I make a mistake. No we don't live in Villeurbanne any more but I look upon Lyon as being my adopted hom...
