Re: BIAFF 2012 RESULTS
Michael, No, I didn't borrow "From the Horse's Mouth" from the IAC library. I was at the London Amateur Film Festival - LAFF - at St.Ermyns in 1975 and watched it then as well as your "Skilift", which was one of my favourites on the day. Another earlier film of yours which I grea...

Re: BIAFF 2012 RESULTS
I agree with Tim about the problems splitting awards into "fiction" and "non-fiction" categories. There are just too many 'grey areas', I would suggest. Take a local gymkhana . No actors. Nothing set up. "Non-fiction" . . . definitely (?). The soundtrack, however, inclu...

Most useful cards for SD900
Could anyone recommend the most useful cards for a newcomer to purchase recording to an SD card for the first time, on the Panasonic SD900. There seems to be a bewildering choice !
Thanks. Pete

Re: Panasonic TM 900 v SD900
Thanks Tim, Col and Tom for your thoughts on the SD900. Yes, I've decided to keep it and fortunately the £50 Panasonic "Cash Back" also applied to this model. Thanks Tim for congratulations on having an excellent model . . . of wife. and Col's advice to cherish, nurture, care for, and trea...

Panasonic TM 900 v SD900
Maybe this also qualifies for an entry in the "Help and Advice for Newcomers" Forum for other non-technical readers ! After deciding to replace my old, very basic Sony Handycam with something a little better I was interested in the views expressed by Col Lamb - another bike fan ?, John C an...

Desirable upgrades for my P.C.
Firstly thanks for your welcome messages to the "Help and Advice for Newcomers" Forum. Due to major upstairs alterations I am having to downsize my hobby workspace. I will be scrapping my hefty 21inch Iiyama CRT monitor, positively ancient now purchased in 1997 along with Photoshop 4., and...

Re: Hello forum viewers
ned, yes, I'm living proof that you can take the occasional good still shot with little skill ! Even though I'm currently President of Cannock Photographic Society, with 70+ members, film making was always my first love and the excitement and can't sleep when you've thought of a brilliant idea for a...

Re: Hello forum viewers
I sent an e-mail to "Amateur Photographer" yesterday saying I was pleased they were on the list of exhibitors at next month's "Focus on Imaging" show at Birmingham's N.E.C. They haven't been represented there for a number of years. I asked who they were sending and which days. I ...

Hello forum viewers
I've been reading the Forums and enjoying the IAC website for a while and finally taken the plunge and registered. As a member of an affiliated photographic society I also now get to see the excellent "Film and Video Maker" and the regional Cemriac magazine. My wife bought me a basic handy...
